We had such a great time today!
Last night we were up late packaging all sort of goodies to have passed out at the Brookfield 4th of July parade.
We were then up bright and early to meet our family, hand off the samples and take our place in the parade line with the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.
We helped decorate the truck and Charlie even helped walk with the banner for a while.
As we were in the parade, we passed out Chamber fans to the spectators, while our family members moved through the crowd passing out treats.
I have to say I was amazed at the amount of people along the route, the kindness and support we recieved and the outstandingly fun atmosphere of the entire event. You can just feel the love of the community!
By the time we reached the end of the parade route we were tired, so very hot, rather hungry, and in search of our family to hear if the samples were liked. All in all, the general consensus was that they were well recieved.
A quick regrouping, lunch decisions, and a ride back to our car, which was at the beginning of the parade route, led us to Blueberry Hill Pancakes in LaGrange where we had a great family lunch.
Many thanks to our family. We love you all!
A huge thank you to The Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to walk with them, and to all of Brookfield for a memorable 4th of July that we have enjoyed so much!
The Brookfield 4th of July Parade was tons of fun. So many wonderful people and lots of help from family helped to make this event such a success in terms of getting our treats packaged and handed out throughout the parade route. If you were lucky enough to receive one of our delicious treats, please let us know what you thought. We’re already looking forward to next years event.
